Dillon Wildfire Updates

To get the most recent updates, go to @lakedillonfire on Twitter or search #Tenderfoot2 on Twitter.  The major news channels are using that # for updates. The wind has kicked up but not as high as was predicted and the firefighters are using a slurry bomber and helicopter with water buckets to slow it down.  Last estimate of the fire’s size was 21 acres.  The Dillon Wildfire is located above the Oro Grande Trail (aka the Dump Road) between the Oro Grande Subdivision and the Corinthian Hills Subdivision on Tenderfoot Mountain.  The wind is pushing it uphill. Updates To CO 9/US 6 Paving Schedule

The schedule for final paving operations is as follows:
Wed, Aug 30 — Crews begin at 7 a.m. on the southbound right lane of CO 9, from Ruby Ranch Road to 3rd Street with completion in the afternoon. All businesses will remain open, although access may be limited at times. Motorists are encouraged to use Adams Avenue to navigate around the temporary closures.
Fri-Mon, Sept. 1-4 — No paving
Tue-Thu, Sept 5-7  — 7 pm to 7 am. Night paving of the I-70 interchange, ranging from 3rd Street on CO 9 to West Anemone Trail on US 6.  All highways including the on- and off-ramps will remain open, although detours may be in place.  Please follow posted signage and pay close attention to flaggers’ directions when traveling through the project. CDOT Construction on US 6 in Dillon, CO 9 in Silverthorne To Start This Week

20 Minute Delays Expected.  The US6/CO9 highway repaving project is due to begin.  CDOT moved equipment into place on Monday, May 1 in Dillon.  Delays of up to 20 minutes can be expected.  There will be alternating left and right lane closures in both eastbound and westbound directions on US6 starting at East Anemone Trail.  Project working hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mon-Thu and 7 am to 12 pm on Fri. For many Associations, the annual HOA insurance policy renewed April 1, and there are no major coverage changes.  It is a good idea to talk with your agent to check that all of your unit coverages are up to date. As units are remodeled and equipped with new furniture and additional belongings, your insurance needs and limits may change. Your agent can review your individual unit owner policy (often referred to as an “HO6” policy) to ensure your coverages are adequate. If you rent, be sure to let your agent know. “Deductible assessment coverage” is also a coverage to discuss with your agent. If you want to know the most up to date information on I70 and other Colorado roads, follow the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Twitter account @ColoradoDOT.  It is updated frequently with crash and closure information and provides real time reopening posts.  Their Colorado Roads App quickly shows I70 speeds and Alerts as well.
